Ryan Mullen was born on 11th August 1996 in Croydon, South London and is the oldest sibling in his family. He started primary school aged 5, secondary school aged 12 and sixth form aged 17. He left school with 11 GCSE's (3B's, 5C's and 2 BTEC passes which count as 3 GCSE's).

Throughout his childhood, Ryan has always been a great lover of music of all genres, ranging from rock all the way through to grime. He has always listened to radio stations such as Kiss 100, Capital FM and Radio 1xtra, so he especially loves rap, R&B, hip-hop, soul etc.

He has always enjoyed singing and rapping covers, but at the age of 14, his maths lesson had a supply teacher so Ryan and his classmates were freestyling raps for fun and many of his classmates had mentioned his rapping ability and they said he should carry on freestyling and writing his own songs/raps instead of doing covers all the time. That idea and praise from his friends gave him the idea to take GCSE music (along with Art and ICT). His music coursework involved him writing his own music which he thoroughly enjoyed and his teacher said that he would get a high grade at the end of the course.

At this point, he wasn't sure about putting up his own music on YouTube due to lack of confidence, age and experience but he carried on writing his own songs since he was 14 (he is 16 today). By the time he was 16, more people around his school (students and staff) had heard him perform and he even rapped to the head of his school and Lord Harris, the head of all the Harris Academies!

The praise he received over those two years gave him the confidence to put only the pieces he particularly loved on to YouTube and other social networking sites such as Twitter. He posted his first music video 'My Own Little World' on January 9th 2013 and his second video 'Don't Wanna Be U' on February 14th 2013. Those videos gave him mainly positive reviews, and when his friends and family heard these, they said these were the best raps of his yet and he has even been noticed by a few big time people such as JStaffz and Mz Bratt!

Ryan has a very diverse music taste, ranging from rock, pop, R&B, hip-hop, soul, reggae, dubstep and even grime! Some of his top influences include Robbie Williams, Emeli Sande, Conor Maynard, Rita Ora, Eminem, Jessie J, Mz Bratt, The Foo Fighers, Guns & Roses, Bob Marley, Draper and the list really does go on! It's pretty safe to say that he has a wide range of styles in his music library and that he isn't afraid to infuse some of them into his future music!

When Ryan was 14, he also took up acting at the Miller Centre Theatre Company, which is situated in Caterham, South London, before which time he had no acting experience. During his time there, he had played Michael, a nerdy schoolkid in 'Plastics Vs Musos' in July 2011, Alonzo Leight, a powerful orphanage owner in 'The 12 Nightmares Of Christmas' in December 2011, George Darling and Cecco, a posh father and a pirate in 'Peter Pan' in July 2012, John Rugby, a French doctor's servant in 'The Merry Wives Of Windsor' in March 2013 and is due to play Santa Claus and King Edmund in 'Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe' on the 20th July 2013, whilst studying for his final GCSE exams. Tickets can be bought online at the Miller Centre Theatre's website and other details can be found on the News & Events page. Ryan has said himself that he does enjoy acting, but his music will always come first, so expect the best of both worlds in his future!

Again, Ryan has a very diverse movie and TV taste, ranging from comedy, action, horror, fantasy, science fiction and period dramas. He particularly loves watching Harry Potter, Lord Of The Rings, Paranormal activity, Only Fools & Horses, ET, Hitch and The Big Bang Theory! He also enjoys reality, talent, game and chat shows, such as The Voice, X-Factor, The Only Way Is Essex, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Alan Carr Chatty Man and much more!

No big arrangements have been made for singings or big shows but he has had offers and turned them down because he wanted to concentrate more on his GCSE's and A-Levels until he was 18. But this is his story so far and who knows what the future might bring?!

Other smaller hobbies of Ryan's are drawing, swimming, which he has won various certificates in, going out with his friends and family, going in to London for meet-ups to make new friends and trying (and mostly failing!) to meet celebrities.
